Kryron Terminator Armor has shown in numerous live fire demonstrations and video captures, the ability to reliably defeat the .50 cal AP round, with the substantially lighter weight system as compared to the current standard. The armor panel is combined with a 3/8” (regular) steel plate to completely defeat and capture .50 cal AP rounds in the system. Because of the shock hardening property of the Kryron, the material actually becomes harder after being struck, so subsequent strikes are defeated for full multiple-impact capability.

The ability of Kryron Terminator Armor has been demonstrated at Dugway Proving Grounds, Ft. Bragg, Army Research Labs, and numerous other live events. In a recent demonstration in Naples, Florida, officials from Homeland Security and CIA were invited to see the blast protection capabilities of Kryron. A suitcase bomb was constructed with 4+ lbs of explosive material with bolts and other fragmentation, and lined with standard Terminator Armor. The result was zero penetration of bolts and other fragments from the device through the armor panels.

IED AND BLAST PROTECTION

Bourque Industries Vehicle Armor solutions provide unparalleled protection against IEDs that pose grave threats to the U.S. and Allied troops throughout Global theaters of operation. Bourque’s Kryron blast panels are lightweight and easily retrofitted to military vehicles, and fully mitigate the extreme gas, heat, blast pressure, and high-velocity shrapnel ejected by the typical roadside/personnel IED, keeping our military safe and on mission. The heat dissipation qualities of the Kryron material and related systems are a perfect solution for use in blast and IED protection. The ability of Kryron to rapidly dissipate heat means that the use of IED with their extreme heat allows for less material to be used than with the .50 cal system.

VEHICLE ARMOR KIT

The system can be installed on existing vehicles without specialized tools or modifications. The vehicle armor is developed by creating armor panels based upon the template designs from the vehicle. The layered system is combined with the appropriate thickness of steel to provide the needed protection. The panels come ready to install on the vehicle.
